SUMMARY:County Road Self Insurance Fund
DESCRIPTION:The County Road Association Self-Insurance Fund (aka CRASIF) was formed in 1978 to manage the workers’ compensation liability of participating road commissions known as members.  It was the sixth self-insured group fund to be created in Michigan.  CRASIF began with 34 road commissions.  It currently serves 70 county road commissions with a combined employee population of roughly 3\,600 employees. \nThe Fund is governed by a nine-person Board of Trustees comprised of road commission administrative staff and commissioners.  The Board hires an administrator to be the chief operating officer.
