Executive Chef Jeffrey Langer

The Lansing Entertainment & Public Facilities Authority is pleased to announce Chef Jeffrey Langer has been promoted to executive chef of the Lansing Center. Langer joined the Lansing Center staff in June 2007 as a sous-chef, and assumed his new position as executive chef in February of 2009.
As Executive Chef of the Lansing Center, Chef Langer is responsible for overseeing all kitchen staff, food production and food quality for events catered through the Lansing Center. He prides himself on his culinary ability to customize menus based on the diverse client preferences and has received many compliments on his unique menus and presentations.
Langer’s has worked for such notable places as the Hilton Hotels, River Square Restaurant, Inc (executive sous-chef), Shoppenagan’s Inn in Grayling, Mich. (executive chef) and an the Boathouse Waterfront in Lake Orion, Mich. (executive chef), before relocating to Lansing. Chef Langer is also an award winner. He placed at the 13th Annual BWL Chili Cook-off, receiving a silver medal for corporate top chili. He also won the Taste of Grand Blanc competition in 2001, the Ortonville Chili Cook-Off in 2001 and received a silver medal at the Sysco Chef Challenge in 2002. Recently, Langer earned the 2009 ACF CPCCA Doctor L.J. Minor award, for serving the culinary community and chapter.
Chef Langer is an active member of the American Culinary Federation. In his spare time, he enjoys mentoring students. He is currently the chef chairman of the Culinary Arts program at Howell High School.
