- Can I bring in my own decorations?
Yes, you are more than welcome to bring in your own decorations, but they have to be free standing (not attached to the walls or ceilings). If your decorations need to be hung, you will incur additional costs. Most of the decorations you bring in need to be setup by you or your family members, not the Lansing Center. The items we do not allow are confetti, glitter, crepe paper, bubble machines and rice. All candles have to be enclosed in glass. It is required that you inform your Catering Sales Coordinator and Event Coordinator of all decorations you are bringing into the Lansing Center.
- Can I bring alcohol or outside food into the Lansing Center?
The Lansing Center’s food and beverage department is the exclusive supplier for all food and beverage service. No outside food or beverages will be allowed to be brought into the Lansing Center. If you do bring alcohol inside it will be taken away, due to the Lansing Center’s liquor license. We will make some ethnic food exceptions, please contact a Catering Sales Coordinator further information.
- Do your bartenders check ID’s?
Yes, our bartenders will check the ID of anyone who looks to be under the legal age of 21. Please make sure the Bridal Party has their ID with them.
- When is the final food count due?
The guaranteed count is required by 3:00 pm five business days prior to the function date and will be the minimum quantity used for billing.
- When do I pay for my wedding?
A full payment for all charges is due in the Administrative Office on or before 4:30 pm three business days before your event.
- When can I start planning my wedding details?
Your Catering Sales Coordinator or Event Coordinator will be contacting you 3 to 4 months before your event to start the planning process.
- Is it possible to substitute items from the Wedding Décor Packages?
No, there are no substitutions for these packages. You can delete items not being used.
- Do you have pictures of weddings held at the Lansing Center?
Yes, please contact a catering sales coordinator and they would be happy to show you their wedding album.
- Can I order specialty linens from your facility?
Yes, the Lansing Center has a book of specialty linens and prices for you to choose from. Please contact a Catering Sales Coordinator to look at the book.
- Do you offer a Children’s Menu?
The Lansing Center offers a children’s meal which includes Chicken Tenders, Tator Tots, Applesauce and Milk. Please contact a Catering Sales Coordinator for current pricing.
- Do you offer ice sculptures?
Yes, we offer many different ice carvings from a Swan, Two Hearts, a Bride and Groom, a Cinderella Carriage and many more. Please contact a Catering Sales Coordinator for current pricing.
- Can my fiance’s parents pay for the bar charges separately?
If other parties are contributing payment for your event, it is the contract signer’s responsibility to collect and make these payments to the Lansing Center. Please note we do not accept personal checks.
- What happens if some of my guests who didn’t RSVP show up?
The Lansing Center will be prepared to serve up to 5% over the guaranteed count to a maximum of twenty additional entrees.
- Can we customize a menu?
Yes, our executive chef would be happy to prepare a menu for you. Please contact the Catering Sales Coordinator to get the process started.
- Will the Lansing Center cut my wedding cake?
Yes, we can cut and serve your wedding cake for no additional charge.
- How many people sit at each table?
Our tables will hold 8 of your guests.
- Can I bring in candy for my table favors?
Yes, as long as the candy is packaged inside something. (Example tulling, foil, plastic, etc.)
- Is the deposit applied to food and beverage?
Yes, the deposit will be subtracted from your final bill.
- Do you offer tastings?
Yes, we offer food tastings for foods you are not familiar with. The tasting is usually held after your first initial meeting with your Catering Coordinator and Event Coordinator. Tasting dates are based upon our Executive Chef’s availability.
- Can we have a “Family Style” meal?
No, we prefer to do a buffet style or plated meal, since we are not equipped to do Family Style Meals.
- Can we take home any leftover meals?
All food and beverage is to be consumed on the premise due to the liability concern and food safety concerns for our guests. Therefore, food and beverage may not be removed from the building upon completion of your event. |
